SAND-CASTING PROCESS
S O U R C I N G
First, I start by sourcing my recycled gold and silver from Cooksongold. The UK's oldest and most trusted Jewelry suppliers based in Birmingham.

Because each ring is hand made to order, I am able to work with you to create a unique ring from one of our designs.
MOULD
The next step is to creating a mould in sand that acts as the negative space that the liquid metal is poured into.

The metal is heated, and melts at about 900 degrees and then casts at about 1000 degrees. The liquid metal is then poured into the sand mould where the ring cools and solidifies in just a few seconds. The ring is now called a cast and it removed from the mould.

Your ring is then trimmed and shaped into the desired design. Starting with sharp files, working down through finer and finer grades of sandpaper and then finally into abrasive polishes

My account is with the assay office in London established by King Edward the 1st of England in 1300, Goldsmiths hall, which is where the term Hall-Mark comes from. However I sometimes send articles to Birmingham office if there is a long processing time in London

Finally your ring is hand finished with an incredible eye for detail I put a slight comfort fit on the inside of every ring I make, but don't worry it doesn't change the sizing. If your ring is made right, it will feel like your not even wearing one.
I take an incredible amount of care creating my rings, I estimate at this point I have created about 2500 pieces over the last seven years. I love what I do and I would love to make a piece for you!
WOOD CRAFTING PROCESS
First, we start by ethically sourcing our variety of woods from a UK based company that adheres to sustainable focused practices.
S O U R C E
The next step in the process is measuring and sizing your ring.
S P E C I F I C S
Then I take your selected wood and cut it into a thin strip before steaming and curling into a tight coil.
S T E A M I N G
After 24 hours when the wood has completely dried, I bind it to make a ring blank the correct size. The wood is bound using resin and oil.
B I N D I N G
After your ring is bound, I hand-turn to the correct shape and thickness.
T U R N I N G
Your ring is then finished with three coats of resin to saturate the wood leaving a crisp, hard surface that is both durable and waterproof.

The care given in these final stages, reflects our passion to provide you with a professional, hand-crafted ring that is not only beautiful but also comfortable to wear.
